I wonder what the demographic, or “psychographic” of an Enterprise Secret Agent is? Hmmm… What traits, characteristics, and qualities make you so successful?

I tend to flit between secret agent, not-so-secret agent and fixer. If things are going well you sit back and just put some grease on the wheels. When things start going a little badly it may be a case of more grease or you need to go undercover to make the right connections or cut out the bad bits. When it all goes pear-shaped you just go in and mop things up.

From my limited observations, the IT departments in most organizations are just barely able to “keep the lights” on given several years of “doing more with less”. To the extent that new business initiatives get launched in concert with a supporting IT initiative it’s either a) due to “secret agents” who are just trying to get good things done for the company or b) due to a person who is building a name and/or image for themselves and then EVERYONE knows about it.

I just realized that the Wet Noodle is one tool of choice for the Enterprise Secret Agent. They can push it up a hill, or flog people with it. Very versatile.
