- Rain and cloudy sunshine on a beach are still better than doing laundry.
- One little additional tequila shot can totally undo an evening of fun.
- It’s rather easy to de-pants yourself when jumping onto an inner tube.
- Dancing in 4.5″ Vegas heels without breaking an ankle is a challenge.
- Having a complete kitchenette in your hotel room and a hubs who enjoys cooking is awesome.
- I didn’t know sand could get in there.
- You meet the nicest people during a tropical storm. In a bar. On a beach.
- Electricity and running water turn out to be optional amenities in the islands.
- Weak-ass bikini top fasteners really create a whole new level of adventure and surprise.
- Waking up every hour throughout the night to make sure you don’t miss your 4:30am alarm so that you don’t miss your flight home is exhausting, but effective.

Next time, leave the heels and bring valium instead.
[And welcome back]
I have inexplicable bruises, aches and pains, too. Except for the big purple bump on my shin from the evil Frisbee. That one, I remember getting. Vacation is rough on the bod.
Sand gets everywhere … it’s a law of nature that holds that sand WILL penetrate every bodily orifice, and having got in will resist for days any effort to remove it.
Ric, I was actually referring to the charge port on my iPhone with the sand comment. Or WAS I??? Hahahahaha!
The story behind #3: There’s this most excellent river ride throughout the Atlantis resort. It involves inner tubes. As I was jumping backwards onto one, I nearly lost my shorts. Fortunately, I became stuck mid-jump on the front part of my tube, trapping my swimsuit bottoms just before things got R-rated. I think I was raised by circus performers, because I was somehow able to pull them up, slide back into the tube, and pass it all off like nothing happened.
